2 Fundraisers Coming to an End*Oct 17 2017

Reminder – Our Pampered Chef Fundraiser is coming to a close, ending tomorrow Oct. 18th 2017 at 4pm MST. Each purchase earns auction tickets towards a GRAND PRIZE DRAWING on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 while supporting a great cause. 15 percent of DDRT’s total sales will go towards this fundraiser- plus an extra $3 for every Show booked from the event. Reminder – Our Hoodies for Hounds Fundraiser will be closing in 3 days, Oct. 20th 2017. Many of our dachshunds come from very poor conditions. They have never had proper medical care, toys or good nutrition to be happy and healthy. Our furkids receive all of these things while they are waiting for their furever families to find them. Good food, toys, a soft clean bed to sleep in and medical care to live long healthy lives. Please help us help them while showing some rescue spirit! Donations for Pets of Hurricane Harvey

Hello Fans of DDRT,

As we all have been watching the continuous photos and videos from Hurricane Harvey destroying parts of Texas and Louisiana, we all have this urge of wanting to help all of those in need. One of the silent victims from this tragedy are the animals who cannot fend for themselves and are lost without their owners and loved ones. We were lucky enough to provide new homes for dogs who were already in the shelter prior to the hurricane hitting. With the coordination of other local Colorado shelters and rescues, a plane from Wings of Rescue flew in 100 dogs in total from the Texas and Louisiana area. Denver Dachshunds Rescue and Transport were able to provide 10 dachshund and dachshund mixes a new rescue home in Colorado. Jamie Roberson, our founder can be seen unloading the plane in the red shirt with our other volunteer Jenny in the blue t-shirt, and Brad in the orange tennis shoes. The DDRT dogs are labeled with the pink tape on the front top of the kennels.

By vacating the dogs that were previously taking up spots in shelters, it helped saved lives of many pets who were then lost and confused in the aftermath of Harvey. The lost Harvey pets now had a temporary safe place within the now empty local shelters giving their owners time to find them. So now continue to help us help them, by donating some of the items below, so that we can transfer the donations down to shelters and rescues who were devastated by flood waters.

DDRT Fence Building Party @ Liberty Ranch*Sept 10-11 2016

Doxie Lovers, as most of you know we are in the process of building a facility (Liberty Ranch) that will be a place the kids can recoup, learn to trust and accept Love.

Saturday Sept 10th & Sunday Sept 11th we’ll be having a fence building and remodel party at Liberty Ranch. We’ll be installing privacy fencing on an acre of land with the help of Colorado Excavating (Thanks guys! 🙂 ) and will also be remodeling and painting one of our buildings!

Like most Rescues we are working on limited funds so we thought we would put out a list of what we are still in need of. This time of year many are cleaning out their garages so you never know. 🙂

Items we will be needing….

Play Yards
-6×6 post for the shade awnings
-truss lumber (2x4x16’s and truss brackets/ nailers)
(We have the metal for the roofs already)
-used turf, used turf from soccer fields or football fields
-material to build play items- trex or composite lumber, composite screws, redwood lumber
-half culvert 20-30ft long for their tunnel
-kiddie pools (we have some already but not sure how many yet)
-corral panels

Office and Senior Center
-composite lumber for ramps and a sunning deck for them to sun bathe and be able to go outside as they please. (we may have this coming! Thank you Mary!)
-Paint for Exterior and Interior
-VCT Tile Flooring (all floors in this building must be cleanable and able to disinfect.
-Tile glue
-a few good condition couches. One for the Senior Side and one for the office area for potential adopters and one for the main building.
-bathtub or larger single tub sink to be installed in one of the bathrooms for bathing the seniors
-Vanity and sink for hand washing in the mom and pups area
-handheld faucet sprayer to wash the kids for both washing areas
-cabinets both wall and floor

Main Building
-Electrical Wire
-12 ea 2’x4′ lights (Found these already 🙂 )
-outlet and light switch boxes
-switch and plug covers
-plugs and switches
-Hot Water Heater 50 gal gas
-counter tops for the cabinets we have
-Double sink and faucet
-PVC pipe and fittings to run to sink, bathtub, waterheater, (not sure size yet)
-5’x10′ wire kennels (we have room for 24 but we only have 10)

We will add to this as we move forward and see what we need.

Shop with a Cop – DDRT Pawing It Forward*July 23 2016*

PawPrintHeart DDRT is Pawing It Forward!

Next Saturday is “Shop with a Cop” Day for many of Aurora’s underprivileged youth for school supplies for the coming school year. These hard working men and women in Blue do all they can to make sure these kids have what they need to thrive in their class environment! Please consider helping them help the future of our Community by donating to this wonderful cause! Each child will have a $200 amount for everything they need. Not much in today’s economy. DDRT has committed to sponsoring a child. We challenge all other Rescue Groups to match us. We KNOW dachshund folks have the biggest hearts just like the breed we love! Make a difference! Thank you Aurora Community and local Walmart in supporting our‪#‎ShopwithaCop‬ program! With the help of so many local residents and businesses, Aurora and Arapahoe Police Officers, we are able to once again give back! On July 23rd, early morning, we will be at Walmart on Chambers and Parker Roads with the Police Officers and 50 families doing some major shopping for Back to School supplies! It is a great event to see the community working together!

Katie is still fighting this morning. She is a little more alert but not out of the woods yet. She will receive a second blood transfusion this morning to see if the added antibodies will help her more. Please continue to keep her in your prayers today.
Her bill is climbing and we could use some help. Parvo treatment is very costly. I do not have an exact total because she is still being treated but she is already over $1000. Love is free but not much else is. We do all we can to raise funding to help the furkids many ways. Sometimes it just isn’t enough. $3000 for Mysique so she would have a chance at life, shots to remain healthy, spay/neuters to help end the cycle, microchips so they will be safe, dentals, heartworm preventative, wormers…just to start. Wont you consider helping us help them? Every single dollar adds up. If everyone who follows our page donated a single dollar imagine the possibilities of how many doxies that would help! Hogs for Hounds Scavenger Hunt*Aug 8 2015*9am-2pm

This Saturday 8/8/15 is the Hogs for Hounds Scavenger Hunt! We will have some great prizes including a $150 Harley Davidson Gift Certificate! Come on out and have some fun while supporting the Doxies with the Denver Dachshunds Rescue and Transport. The hunt ends (last-in 2pm) at Westy Fest. Meet & Greet*July19th 2015*12-3pm

Hi All,
As some of you know, I will be hosting a donation/adoption event to support Denver Dachshund Rescue and Transport next Sunday, July 19th, from Noon – 3pm.

Denver Dashchund Rescue and Transport is close to my heart, as this is where I found little Sally, who unfortunately passed away in December of last year. The rescue organization helps hundreds of dogs each year and works tirelessly to ensure their safety and health while with them. They go above and beyond to give these beautiful dogs another chance at life. Because of the amazing work they do, I feel it’s important to give back, and part of each commission I earn, will go back to support this organization.

From a donation perspective, they are looking for paper towels, cleaning supplies, dog toys, dog blankets or beds, dog food, and of course any cash donations are appreciated. As well, adoptable dogs will be here and waiting to find their forever homes with you!

We will have giveaways, prizes, and hot dogs on the grill (what else would you expect from a dachshund and dogs event?!?!). 🙂 Please come out and support this organization and the work they do, I promise it will be a lot of fun!
